POSPTARTUM DOULAS

INFORMATIONAL - EMOTIONAL - CUSTOMIZED SUPPORT

As postpartum doulas, we're there to support you in the transition to parenthood. We empower parents and help you build your parenting skills, help with feeding (however you choose to do so), assist with newborn care while parents shower, eat, sleep, etc. and provide resources and referrals when we see a need or questions arise outside of our scope. Think of us as your insta-new bestie that will come into your home and take care of you!

Scheduling

When signing up with us, you purchase hours in "chunks" and can then use them toward daytime and/or nighttime shifts. We'll work with you to assign doula(s) for your first shift to assist with your needs. For future shifts, you'll simply schedule those directly with your doula(s).

 

Minimum Hour Requirements: 

  • Day: 4 hours

  • Night: 8 hours

What to Expect

Below are some expectations and different services your Postpartum Doula may provide, however, she will work with your family to make a personalized plan.

*Please note that due to the nature of our work assisting with newborns, we do not help with families that are sick.

A Postpartum Doula:

  • Is a newborn care specialist

  • Shares knowledge gleaned from personal and professional experience

  • Empowers parents while building confidence in parenting skills

  • Nurtures the new family unit

  • Cares for baby while parents rest, shower, etc.

  • Helps with feedings: checks latch, helps with pumping, gives bottle (formula or breastmilk)

  • Processes birth and normalizes the wild ride of having a new baby

  • Provides resources and referrals when family has needs outside of doula's scope

A Postpartum Doula Does Not:

  • ​Do major house cleaning

  • Stay awake all night during night shift

  • Do anything clinical

  • Act as a lactation consultant

  • Babysit, cover date nights​

How to Sign Up

  1. ​Submit the Postpartum Client Needs Assessment here.

  2. Let us know how many hours you'd like (you can always add more as you go).
